Woven Veins
digital prints on Hahnemeuhle ultra smooth photo rag paper (set of 5)

In ‘Woven Veins’, each partly woven woolen garment individually forms an alphabet and collectively forms the quote “Our Bodies are Moulded Rivers” from the German poet Novalis. The piece carries my preoccupation with the body and its projection as landscape, also seen in works such as ‘Crease / Crevice / Contour’ (2008) or with the recurrent analogies between the body and earth, the nervous system and the flow of rivers.
